Measuring a whopping 19 feet 10.5 inches wide and 13 feet 11.25 inches tall (not including the frame!), Abilene’s buckle beats out Texas and Missouri to take the title. Crafted by local artist Jason Lahr of Fluter’s Creek Metal Works, this larger-than-life masterpiece was unveiled in December 2022 and has been turning heads—and attracting cameras—ever since.

National Recognition
The buckle was named “Best Roadside Attraction in the U.S.” by TravelAwaits in 2023 and featured in dozens of publications and broadcasts—from Fox News to KANSAS! Magazine, PBS, and even True West Magazine. Jefferson White, better known as “Jimmy” from Yellowstone, even gave it a shout-out!
